Job Position Overview:
Northern Peak HR Consulting is seeking a talented individual on behalf of a client, who will be a responsible manager for all aspects of harvest and delivery operations including road construction and maintenance activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of trucking operations ensuring efficiency and productivity while maintaining full legislative compliance.
- Oversee the harvesting, loading and unloading activities.
- Oversee maintenance and shop operations.
- Maintain environmental regulation.
- Participate in the development of any business strategic planning.
- Work closely with planning and operations to plan and execute the operating plans to meet both internal and external customers requirements.
- Provide the leadership required to foster an environment of continuous improvement across the operation.
- Lastly, maintain cost efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Forestry Operations experience.
- Previous managerial experience in an industrial work environment.
- A degree or diploma in Forestry, Forest Engineering, or a Mechanical Trade Certificate (Heavy Equipment or Truck and Coach) will be an asset.
- Previous knowledge in trucking operations and the Highway Traffic Act.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Microsoft Office skills (excel, word).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, self starter, initiative required to act under minimal supervision.
- Strong planning skills and highly organized.
