We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded Short-Haul Truck Driver to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for transporting goods and materials on local and short interurban routes. You must ensure deliveries are made safely, on time, and with care. Key Duties

Short-haul truck drivers are responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods and materials over local and short interurban routes. Typical duties include:

  • Safely operate and drive primarily straight trucks on local and short interurban routes to transport goods and materials.
  • Plan trip, follow schedules, and complete deliveries on time.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Oversee loading/unloading to ensure cargo is secured and complies with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, bills of lading, hours of service, cargo details, and mileage.
  • Communicate with the dispatcher and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid DZ driver’s license (or applicable class) with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, preferably in short-haul or local delivery operations.
  • Proven ability to operate straight trucks and, where applicable, special purpose vehicles (e.g., tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks, or cement mixers).
  • Further, strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, traffic laws, and local and interurban routes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Also, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of meeting job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing into/out of vehicles, and working flexible hours, weekends, and overnight shifts as needed.
