
Couchiching First Nation is seeking a Jordan’s Principle Navigator – Service Coordination and Group Programming to join our Social Services team. Reporting to the Coordinator, this role is responsible for developing and implementing coordinated service plans for children and families and coordinating group programs to address common needs within the community. The Jordan’s Principle Navigator works closely with families, service providers, and community organizations to ensure holistic and culturally appropriate care.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and initiative. In addition, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in service coordination and group programming within the community.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Firstly, a degree, diploma or certificate in social work, child and youth care or related field.
- Secondly, experience in client advocacy.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and interviewing skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams.
- Knowledge of Couchiching First Nation and community resources.
- Knowledge of Intake and Referral processes in a social services setting.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Moreover, experience working with Indigenous communities, families, and/or organizations is preferred.
- Must pass a vulnerable sector check.
- Valid G level driver’s license is an asset.
- Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check.
- Ability to speak Ojibway is considered an asset.
- Finally, commitment to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
