Job Summary:
Lac Seul First Nation is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Waninitawingaang Memorial School. Under the direction of the Principal, the Special Education Teacher will assist in overseeing the delivery of special education services at Waninitawingaang Memorial School. Furthermore, they will work directly with students, school staff, and community partners to ensure the effective delivery of special education services within the school.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary:
As per the Lac Seul Education Salary Grid (Based on Years Experience and QECO Rating (Ranges from $62,777-$111,071). Lac Seul Education also is a member of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP).

Note: This position is based at Waninitawingaang Memorial School, Kejick Bay, Lac Seul.
Qualifications:
- Firstly, experience working with students with various special education needs.
- A minimum of Special Education Part 1 AQ, but Special Education Specialist AQ would be considered an asset.
- In addition, previous experience in a special education and or coaching/leadership role within a school setting would be considered an asset.
- Also, strong commitment to creating trauma-informed, inclusive education opportunities for all students.
- Similarly, strong public relations, interpersonal, planning, organizational and strong leadership skills.
- Equally important, strong commitment to the goals and vision of the Lac Seul Education Authority.
- Knowledge and sensitivity of First Nations traditions and culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Finally, a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License.
