Couchiching First Nation is hiring a Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department in a full-time, permanent role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human resources combined with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting our employees and our community. Job Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager oversees all human resources functions. This role encompasses all facets of HR management, including recruitment, training and development, performance management, attendance monitoring, benefits administration, and health and safety. The HR Manager will collaborate with leadership, supervisors, and employees to address workforce challenges and foster a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and organizational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recruitment and staffing to ensure the organization attracts top talent.
  • Lead training and development programs to promote employee growth and engagement.
  • Support performance management initiatives and coach managers on effective interventions.
  • Monitor employee attendance and provide strategies to address concerns.
  • Administer new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Manage and promote compliance with the organization’s Health and Safety program.
  • Handle benefits administration and ensure effective communication with employees.
  • Prepare and present HR reports to leadership as required.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on HR and operational initiatives.
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
