At Creighton, we take pride in a trauma-responsive culture that not only delivers high-quality care for youth but also provides genuine support for staff. In addition, you will be part of a collaborative leadership team that values professional growth, shared responsibility, and workplace wellness. This is a full-time, in-person role based in Kenora, Ontario.
In this role, you will ensure effective day-to-day operations and empower staff to take ownership of their work. You will support youth in ways that align with the agency’s mission and strategic goals. Moreover, the Supervisor provides ongoing guidance, promotes staff development, and helps maintain a safe and supportive environment where both staff and youth can thrive. In addition, hours of work may vary to reflect program needs and could include evenings or weekends.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and health and safety standards, applied through a trauma-responsive lens.
- Additionally, able to implement a harm reduction model tailored to this specialized population.
- Demonstrated experience supporting equity-deserving youth populations, including but not limited to sexually exploited young women, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and Indigenous or racialized youth.
- Skilled in guiding and developing staff through both individual and group supervision that promotes growth, confidence, and wellness.
- Experienced in client interventions (individual and group) with a focus on safety, empowerment, and dignity.
- Moreover, an effective communicator who brings sound judgment and decision-making while modeling collaboration and empathy.
- Able to negotiate and partner within the agency and with external resources to ensure strong wraparound supports for youth.
- Committed to building a supportive workplace culture that balances accountability with care for staff well-being.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Clear Broad Records Check.
- Successful completion of Crisis Intervention certification.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Indigenous Studies, or a related human services field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in residential care, child welfare, community support, or related fields.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in team-based settings.
- Specialized training or certifications in trauma-informed care, sexual exploitation, or related areas considered an asset.
Comprehensive Benefits Package including:
- Extended Health, Dental, and Wellness Supports: Comprehensive coverage that promotes long-term well-being.
- Pension Plan Participation: Ensures financial stability and peace of mind for the future.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling where possible; however, some evening and weekend work may occasionally be required to meet program needs.
- Professional Development: Ongoing training, supervision, and growth opportunities designed to strengthen trauma-responsive leadership skills.
- Supportive Team Culture: A collaborative workplace that values wellness, shared accountability, and open communication—ensuring that all staff feel empowered and supported.
If you are committed to advocacy, empowerment, and trauma-responsive leadership, we encourage you to apply. This role also offers the opportunity to guide and support a dedicated team while walking alongside young women impacted by sexual exploitation on their journey toward safety, stability, and growth. Moreover, at Creighton, we believe in fostering a workplace where staff are valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive—because strong teams, ultimately, create stronger outcomes.
