Job Position Overview

Northern Peak HR is seeking experienced Log Truck Drivers for one of its clients in Thunder Bay, ON. The primary function of this role is to safely and efficiently transport logs from the logging operation to the mill, ensuring that the logs arrive in good condition and on time.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate tractor and log trailer in a safe and timely manner.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during transportation.
• Haul round wood from logging operation to mill sites.
• Communicate via two-way radio to ensure safe travel.
• Clean and lubricate the vehicle when needed.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and perform minor maintenance as required.
• Participate in all safety programs, training, or meetings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any maintenance concerns to Supervision.
• Perform daily inspections on the assigned vehicle and trailer to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Required Qualifications

• AZ License is required.
• Experience in a forestry setting.
• Experience driving a log truck is considered an asset.
• Clean driver’s abstract is required.
• A positive and proactive attitude towards safety.
• High school diploma and/or post-secondary degree is considered an asset.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
