Job Description

Michieli Custom Concrete is seeking an experienced and dependable Forming Carpenter to join its growing construction team. The successful candidate will assist with laying out, building, installing, and preparing concrete forms for a variety of custom concrete construction projects throughout Ontario.

As a Forming Carpenter, you will be responsible for helping prepare forms used in concrete construction. The work may include laying out forms, forming stairs, preparing forms for slab-on-grade projects, and completing other related carpentry duties. In addition, you must be comfortable using construction tools, performing physical work, and working as part of a team in an active construction environment.

Therefore, this position is well suited to someone who has practical forming or carpentry experience, can follow measurements and instructions, and is comfortable completing physically demanding tasks. Overall, the successful candidate should be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to completing accurate, high-quality work.

Michieli Custom Concrete is hiring an experienced Forming Carpenter for custom concrete construction projects throughout Ontario, advertised on the Northern Peak HR Consulting job board. This concrete forming position involves laying out, building, installing, and removing forms for stairs, slab-on-grade work, and other concrete projects. Dependable candidates with forming carpentry or construction experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work are encouraged to apply. Custom Concrete offers steady, year-round employment, pay of $35.00 to $50.00 per hour, employee benefits, and opportunities for growth and advancement.
Pay: CA$35.00-CA$50.00 per hour, plus benefits

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Firstly, assist with the layout and installation of concrete forms.
  • Build and prepare forms for concrete construction projects.
  • Form stairs, as well as slab-on-grade projects.
  • Measure, position, and secure forming materials.
  • Use hand and construction tools, including a sledgehammer.
  • Assist with removing and organizing forms after concrete placement.
  • Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow company and construction-site safety procedures.
  • Lastly, perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Previous forming carpentry or construction experience is preferred.
  • In addition, experience laying out and building concrete forms is an asset.
  • Likewise, familiarity with forming stairs or slab-on-grade projects is an asset.
  • Ability to safely use hand and construction tools.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including swinging a sledgehammer.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Furthermore, reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a construction team.
  • Finally, strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
