Director of Human Resources #2026-NU-17
Permanent Full Time Position, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $98,430 – $109, 367
Work Location: In person

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Human Resources is accountable as a senior manager for Wesway. This position is responsible to initiate, develop, implement and maintain human resources programs and policies. These programs and policies must meet legislative requirements and corporate goals. In addition, the position manages the efficient operation of all aspects of human resources. This includes recruitment and selection, labour relations, collective agreement administration and negotiations, and performance management systems. Responsibilities also include benefits and compensation administration, occupational health and safety, human resources information systems, and training and development. Furthermore, the position manages business relationships involving contracted, outsourced and self-employed individuals. These responsibilities follow Wesway’s philosophy, policies and procedures, applicable Ministry guidelines, relevant legislation and collective agreements.
Qualifications
- University degree in Human Resources from a recognized university, and five to eight years’ experience including progressive human resources management and generalist experience and one to three years in a leadership role
- CHRL designation
- Previous Human Resources management experience in a unionized environment
- Ability to work with a high degree of integrity and professionalism at all levels of the organization and in representing Wesway to external parties
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal, presentation, as well as written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license, as well as access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Able to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) as required
