Job Position Overview:
The Acute/ER Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the operation and function of Acute Care (AC), Emergency Department (ER), the Telemedicine Department (OTN), and the Pharmacy Department.
The Acute/ER Nurse Manager is a member of the Management Team and is responsible and accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer. They are responsible for supervising a team of nursing staff to provide holistic and integrated healthcare to patients while providing guidance, leadership, and training opportunities to nursing and pharmacy staff. The Nurse Manager will manage departmental budgets, staff absenteeism, monitor resources and supplies, and ensure effective and efficient use of nursing resources are available to ensure patient care needs are met and optimal care is provided, that meets quality standards, in accordance with applicable legislation and Best Practice Guidelines.
Rate of Pay: $51.71 – $63.56/hour

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Current registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Active member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is an asset.
- Evidence of completion or willingness to obtain administrative, leadership or management certificate, diploma or similar courses is an asset.
- Management education and 5 years management experience is an asset
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience in policy development and implementation
- Desire and ability to take responsibility for their own professional development
- Basic Computer Skills
