Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Arena Maintenance Worker to support the daily operations of our Lac Seul Events Centre arena. Reporting to the Lac Seul Events Centre Manager, the Arena Maintenance Worker will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for recreational activities, sporting events, and community gatherings.

- Location: Lac Seul Event Centre, Frenchman’s Head, Lac Seul, ON.
- Rate: $25.91/per hour *based on qualifications and experience.
- Term: Full-time position
- Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 35 hours per week
- Deadline: April 10, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. CST *Late applications will not be accepted.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the arena facility, including sweeping, mopping, waste removal, and general upkeep of all areas
- Maintain and monitor the ice surface, including operating ice resurfacing equipment (training provided)
- Inspect and maintain arena infrastructure such as dasher boards, seating areas, and common spaces
- Assist in the operation and monitoring of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and other mechanical systems
- Conduct regular checks of lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems; report maintenance issues as required
- Also, set up and take down equipment for events, programs, and facility rentals
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards; identify and address hazards promptly
- Provide basic customer service by assisting patrons and responding to general inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment servicing
- Finally, report incidents, damages, and operational concerns to the Arena Manager in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Firstly, a high school diploma or equivalent required
- In addition, experience in facility maintenance, custodial work, or a related field is considered an asset
- Similarly, experience operating ice resurfacing equipment is an asset; training will be provided
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, facility maintenance practices, and tools
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and perform minor repairs
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check
