Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Home & Community Care, the Assistant Director of Home & Community Care (ADHCC) supports the planning, organization, and delivery of Lac Seul First Nation’s Home & Community Care programs and services. The Assistant Director of Home & Community Care also assists with administrative, clinical, and community health operations to ensure effective delivery of programs that promote and protect the health and well-being of Lac Seul members. Moreover, the Assistant Director of Home & Community Care plays a key leadership role in advancing culturally grounded, client-centred care that reflects community values, health priorities, and provincial standards.

  • Location: Lac Seul, ON
  • Term: Full-time position
  • Salary: $40.90/hour *based on qualifications and experience.
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 35hrs/week

Key Accountabilities and Qualifications:
  • Firstly, a Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in health science, hospital administration, public administration, or social science preferred; high school diploma required
  • Additionally, a minimum seven (7) years’ experience in home and community care
  • Minimum three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations
  • Valid registration with a professional regulatory body (if applicable)
  • In-depth understanding of Ontario’s health care system, public health principles, and Indigenous health issues
  • In addition, knowledge of trauma-informed care models and culturally safe service delivery
  • Likewise, strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Similarly, experience with electronic medical records, health information systems, and reporting requirements
  • Ability to prepare budgets, reports, recommendations, and presentations
  • Commitment to ethical, community-centered service delivery and cultural humility
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Willingness to participate in home visits, community engagement, and occasional evening/weekend work
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check and up-to-date immunizations, including TB screening
