Job Summary
Lac Seul First Nation is seeking one part-time Independent Living Facility Multi-Purpose Worker for our new ten (10) unit Independent Living Facility. Under the direct supervision of the ILF Manager, the ILF Multi-Purpose Worker will promote healthy, out-on-the-land/culturally based activities and engagement activities to the Elders of Lac Seul First Nation. Furthermore, the ILF Multi-Purpose Worker will assist with planning activities every week and other programming needs. Moreover, the ILF Multi-Purpose Worker will be required to work evenings and occasional weekends. Ensuring all residents are comfortable and their needs are met, the multi-Purpose Worker will communicate with other facility team members to provide the best possible living experience.

Location: Frenchman’s Head, Lac Seul, ON
Term: Part-time position
Rate: Wages start at $25.91/hour based on qualifications and experience.
Hours: Weekends, holidays and coverages.
Closing: Open Until Filled

Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):
- Firstly, have patience, understanding, and compassion in working with elders and those with mobility issues.
- Cleaning and organization of common areas and hallways.
- Assist kitchen when needed.
- Assist residents when needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Provide support and programming for Elders to ensure an active and healthy environment.
- Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises.
- Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance.
- Equally important, ensure all incident/accident reports and recorded accurately and submitted to the ILF Manager as they occur.
- Other duties as assigned by the ILF Manager and/or Director of Home & Community Care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Physical capacity to handle the physical aspects of the work.
- Good customer service skills and courtesy to greet visitors.
- Good judgment and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to speak Ojibway is an asset.
- This position requires good community ability, must be well organized, and apt in problem-solving and attention to detail.
- May be required to work some evenings and weekends as required by operational needs.
